Roe's Weight

Just an update on our little dino's weight. We went and had a weight check on Thursday and our chubby little girl weighed 12 pounds and 14 ounces!!! She's a little chunker!

Lil Dinosaur!

Hi everyone! We made it through Roe's first Thanksgiving and she had a great time! We went up north to Dunbar, Wisconsin to stay in a cabin with my family. The cabin we stayed in was so nice! We really enjoyed it and Bronwyn and Ellie had a blast with their little cousin. I don't think Wyn left her side the whole time. It was very cute! Monroe is now 5 weeks and 3 days old and we can't believe how big she is! She just keeps getting chubbier! She has also become quite the talker, especially in the morning. Because of this lil talking she does Luke and I came up with a new nickname for her, our lil dinosaur! She sounds just like a lil dino! It is the sweetest sounding voice ever!!! She has also started seeing things as well. When we talk to her she stares right at us and when we walk by her she follows us with her eyes. My mom even got a couple smiles! It's so exciting to see her being more and more alert but also sad at the same time cuz she's getting too big too fast! Well, I just wanted to give everyone a little update! 2 Weeks and 3 Days

Well, our baby girl is 2 weeks and 3 days old already! These past 2 weeks have gone so quickly. I feel like just yesterday I was so impatient and feeling like I was going to be pregnant forever! Now Luke and I just feel like time goes by so fast. We are so busy during the day that I blink and it's already time for bed. Things are going so well though. Luke and I just feel so blessed to have such a relaxed baby. She just has such a laid back little personality. Lately she's been eating a lot more and more often due to the fact that I believe she is having a little growth spirt. She poops between 8 and 10 times a day, which the poopy diapers are Luke's favorite!! Some of her favorites right now are laying in her boppy, sitting in her swing, being swaddled in her mimi, and looking up at the ceiling. We can just tell she is just trying to take everything all in. We can't wait for everyone who hasn't gotten the chance to meet Monroe yet to see her. We will be in Jerseyville this weekend and Fairbury the next. Miss everyone and hope to see you all soon!!

SHE'S HERE!!!!

So the day finally came! Monroe was born on October 24, 2009 at 12:48 AM. She was a shocking 8 pounds 14 oz and 20 inches long. Born with a full head of beautiful brown hair and a nose like her daddys. The labor wasn't the easiest experience. I started going into hard labor around 9 Thursday night. Luke and I toughed it out at home till around 12 and then decided to go to the hospital. Once we got there my water broke around 12:15 and we were then admitted right away. We had thought that the labor would have been a much quicker process since my water had broken but little did we know that we were in for a 24 hour stretch. The doctors thought that we would have a normal delivery but around 10:30 they decided to do a c-section due to Roe's head being a little too large, the opening being a little too small, and she weighed just a little too much. Finally 2 hours and much stress later we welcomed our precious little angel into the world. Luke and I couldn't be happier. We just feel so blessed to have Monroe in our lives. We're just trying to take every minute in and we thank all of our family and friends for your best wishes. Things are still a little hectic right now but we promise to get pictures up shortly after we get home which should be no later than Tuesday. Thanks again to all of our family and friends that helped us at the hospital. We love you all!!

Just Another False Alarm

Another visit to the hospital and another time we get sent home. I guess 3rd time is the charm doesn't work for little Roe! So I started having contractions last night around 8ish and I just went on to bed only to be woken up at about 3:15 with really strong ones only getting closer together. So we waited around the house til about 8AM to see if they would get stronger and sure enough they got to about 5 min apart and they were only getting stronger and stronger so we went ahead and went to the hospital. I really thought that this was going to be the day. So when Luke asked me his daily routine question, "Are we gonna have a baby today?" I said I thought so when usually I answer I doubt it. But i think I may have been wrong! Darn it! After a couple hours at the hospital the contractions sort of slowed so we came back home. Now I'm still getting pretty strong contractions every once in a while so hopefully they keep up and maybe we will be back there again tonight or tomorrow for the real thing. Great Grandma Durbin says lots of babies are born in stormy weather so if that's true today could be the day!

39 Week Appointment

So I had my 39 week appointment today with Dr. Gladish, and Roe has dropped a bit more so that was good news to me!  Dr. Gladish says he doesn't think I will make it to next week, so I really hope he is right!  I'm feeling very anxious and impatient because I am so sore and I'm just feeling a lot of pressure so we just hope and pray that things get started here in the next couple days.  I'm just gonna keep going on my daily walks and keep trying to work this lil stinker out!  We will be sure to keep you all posted!

Hello Everyone!

Well, we decided to make a blog to keep everyone up to date with what is going on with Luke and I and our little sweet baby that will be here very soon! We are anxiously awaiting the lil lady to make her debut. Luke is going to class and working to keep himself busy while we wait and as for myself I'm doing a lot of nothing. After last Monday when Luke and I were in the hospital from 12:15AM to 9:30AM I was told that I had to stop working. So I've been catching up on my Bravo TV shows and cleaning with little naps in between. Everyone is getting so excited for little Roe to get here, but she's just being a little stubborn right now because she keeps teasing us and making us think that she's coming and then she fakes us out. Like my mom said though, "She wouldn't be you and Luke's baby if she wasn't a little stubborn. We will be sure to update you all when she makes her appearance!
